The electric SUV space in India is heating up, and the latest entrant to the club is Mahindra XUV400, the first all-electric SUV from the house of Mahindra with cutting-edge technology, powerful features and thrilling performance.
Let's take a look at the newly launched Mahindra XUV400 Specifications, price, features, launch date, and more-
Mahindra XUV400 Electric Overview
Mahindra XUV400 is available in two variants- EC and EL, with battery packs of 34.5kWh and 39.4kWH, respectively. The EC variant is available with 3.3kW and 7.2kW chargers. The MIDC (Modified Indian Driving Cycle) range of the XUV400 EC model is 375 km, while that of the XUV400 EL is 456 km.
With a 50kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0-80% in about 50 minutes. And with the 7.2kW charger, the battery can go from 0-100% in 6 hours and 30 minutes. The XUV400 new models deliver a similar electric motor output of 110kW and 310Nm. The company claims the newly launched SUV goes from 0-100kmph in 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 150kmph.
Mahindra XUV400 Electric Exterior
The Mahindra XUV400 EV's design is not a giant leap from the ICE version of the SUV. However, some new EV-inspired elements exist, like the stylish copper trim and the closed-off grille. In addition, the classy headlights are a noteworthy upgrade that adds a certain futuristic appeal to the vehicle.
But if we talk about the rear side profile of the e-XUV400, they're very similar to its non-electric counterpart. As for the colours, XUV400 is available in five options- Napoli Black, Infinity Blue, Galaxy Grey, Arctic Blue, and Everest White. With the EL variant, you get five additional dual-tone options.
Mahindra XUV400 Electric Interior
The copper theme of the XUV400 can be seen in its full glory in the interiors. Right from the rotary knobs for the air conditioner and volume to the air vents and the "twin-peaks" logo, the copper finish looks high-class. But just like the exteriors, much of the electric XUV400 interiors are similar to its ICE model.
So, the 5-seater is equipped with the same 7.0-inch infotainment system and the traditional knobs and buttons. However, the analogue dials have new skin, and you get leatherette seats with the EL variant. The high-end variant is also equipped with 6 airbags, while the base variant only has 2 airbags.

The vehicle's electric powertrain is powered by the older generation of lithium-ion batteries, with 5.3.2 cells, supplied by the Korea-based LG Chem. But the Mahindra engineers have rebalanced the range and power for the Indian roads.
The battery management system, electric motor, and controllers are based on a technology by Valeo to ensure minimal NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels.
